A Flooded Chippewa River

This past Saturday, March 14th, The Outdoor Adventure Co. led by 3 Guides (Rose, Jacob and Gabriel) helped navigate a dedicated group of 10 paddlers down the flooded Chippewa River. Cloudy skies and constant drizzle (ok, even a few "river baptisms") couldn't dampen the groups spirit.

OAC hit the River at Winn Rd around 10:45am. The group pulled into lunch at Meridian park about two and a half hours later. After some of Rose's famous Dill Pickle Wraps, a few cups of hot cocoa, and likely some bad jokes, the paddlers were back on the river. Under the covered bridge, through the flooded golf course (and some more polar bear club members) and on to Island Park in downtown Mt. Pleasant, we pulled off the river around 4:30pm.

An excellent paddle group on this trip and we hope to see all of you back on one of our next Adventures!

Paddling Seminars at the Grand Rapids Boat Show

The Outdoor Adventure Co. in connection with Powers Outdoors will be presenting an overview of the rivers and paddling techniques that are common in West Michigan. This brief Seminar is a great introduction for kayak, canoe, or stand up paddleboard enthusiasts! Be sure to stop by the Grand Rapids Boat Show during one of these presentations:

2011 USCA Nationals Coming to Newaygo...

Hey Happy Paddlers!

Powers Outdoors and The Outdoor Adventure Co have partnered with the MCRA, the City of Newaygo, and the State of Michigan to bring the 2011 USCA Canoe & Kayak National Championships to the Muskegon River in downtown Newaygo.
